چکیده
Gas Sensors In article number 2302219, Suk Yeop Chun, Young Geun Song, Chong-Yun Kang, Jung Ho Yoon, and co-workers propose a hysteretic “chemi-memristive gas sensor” based on oxygen-vacancy chemi-memristive dynamics that differ from of conventional sensors. Based the advantageous functionality sensor, including fast responses, short recovery times, response, device-level olfactory systems can monitor history input stimuli are experimentally demonstrated.

Metamaterials: Snapping Mechanical Metamaterials under Tension (Adv. Mater. 39/2015).
By exploiting snap-through instabilities, D. Pasini and co-workers design a damage-tolerant mechanical metamaterial that snaps sequentially under tension, thereby accommodating a very large deformation up to 150%. On page 5931, they describe how the nonlinear mechanical response of the metamaterial can be robustly programmed by tuning the architecture of its unit cell.
متن کاملTowards a truly biomimetic olfactory microsystem: an artificial olfactory mucosa.
Today, the capability of the human olfactory system is still, in many ways, superior to that of the electronic nose. Although electronic noses are often compared with their biological counterpart, they neither mimic its neural architecture nor achieve its discriminating performance. Experimental studies on the mammalian olfactory system suggest that the nasal cavity, comprising of the mucous la...
متن کاملAn Investigation on the Role of Spike Latency in an Artificial Olfactory System
Experimental studies have shown that the reactions to external stimuli may appear only few hundreds of milliseconds after the physical interaction of the stimulus with the proper receptor. This behavior suggests that neurons transmit the largest meaningful part of their signal in the first spikes, and than that the spike latency is a good descriptor of the information content in biological neur...
متن کاملAn Affinity Based Complex Artificial Immune System
This paper proposes an affinity based complex artificial immune system considering the fact that the different eptitopes located on the surface of antigen can be recognized by a set of different paratopes expressed on the surface of immune cells. A neighborhood set consisting of immune cells with different affinities to a certain input antigen is built to simulate the nature immune behavior. Fu...
